Everbright International Signs Three Cooperation Framework Agreements for Industrial Park Projects

Actively Plans and Constructs the Industrial Parks to Strengthen overall Cooperation

6 November 2013, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group has signed a Letter of Intent for a Veinous Industrial Park Project with the Administration Committee of the National Eastern-Central-Western District Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Xuwei New District at Lianyungang, Jiangsu ("Xuwei New District"), a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement regarding the environmental protection and alternative energy sectors with the People's Government of Ganzhou city, Jiangxi ("Ganzhou Government"), and a Contracted Environmental Services Framework Agreement with the Administration Committee of Zhenjiang New District in Jiangsu ("Zhenjiang New District"), in a bid to step up the planning and construction of environmental protection veinous industrial parks.

Xuwei New District is the pilot area in the National Eastern-Central-Western District Cooperation Demonstration Zone approved to be set up by the State Council. The focus of development of the zone includes five leading sectors, namely energy conservation, petrochemical, fine steel, modern port logistics and advanced equipment manufacturing. It will also promote the development of veinous industries such as industrial waste recycling, centralized treatment of hazardous waste and the use of photovoltaic energy. According to the Letter of Intent for the Veinous Industrial Park Project, Everbright International will be responsible for the investment, construction and operation management of the environmental protection veinous industrial park in the zone. The project commands an investment of approximately USD 95 million. Based on the principle of "overall planning, implementation in phases and obtaining approval by protect", the project will include the environmental elements of solid waste integrated treatment, hazardous waste treatment, manufacturing of environmental protection equipment and photovoltaic power generation.

According to the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement signed with Ganzhou Government, Everbright International, as the preferred partner of Ganzhou Government, will actively support the planning and construction of the environmental protection and ecological industrial park. The industrial park is made up of three major sections comprising the environmental protection equipment manufacturing area, the veinous industrial park and the integrated protection zone, all of which cover environmental protection equipment manufacturing, household waste-to-energy, industrial solid waste integrated treatment, food waste integrated treatment, alternative energy project investment and development, mine management and soil remediation.

In addition to the expansion of the above-mentioned two new areas in Lianyungang and Jiangxi, the Contracted Environmental Services Framework Agreement signed between Everbright International and Zhenjiang New District will continue to deepen cooperation between the two parties based on the existing waste-to-energy and photovoltaic energy project. Riding on Everbright International's experience in technological research and development, project construction, operation management and equipment manufacturing, the Group will provide Zhenjiang New District with a series of environmental services, including environmental consulting and assessment of the waste water treatment, reusable water, food waste treatment, construction waste treatment and soil remediation. At the same time, the Group will enjoy preferential investment rights in the related environmental protection projects. If all the above projects in Zhenjiang New District are implemented, the total investment will reach RMB 2 billion.
