Everbright International Invests in and Constructs Anhui Hanshan Photovoltaic Energy Project
Achieves Comprehensive Benefits and Constructs Pilot Project
5 November 2014, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that Anhui Hanshan Biomass Power Generation Project commenced operation in late August 2014 and is currently operating stably. The Group will also build 3 new raw material sheds and invest in and construct Hanshan Distributed Photovoltaic Energy Project ("Hanshan Photovoltaic Energy Project") on the roofs of the sheds in order to reduce the damages and losses of biomass raw materials in the open air and make full use of roof areas. The total investment of Hanshan Photovoltaic Energy Project is approximately RMB62.72 million and its total net area is approximately 46,162 m². The total gross capacity of Hanshan Photovoltaic Energy Project is 5.4MWp and will be installed on the roofs of 4 raw material sheds within the area of Hanshan Biomass Power Generation Project plant. The estimated average annual electricity generation will reach 5,160,000 kWh and is expected to commence commercial operation in June 2015.
Hanshan Photovoltaic Energy Project follows the principles of distributed photovoltaic electricity generation, including dispersed layout and the use of nearby resources. It will share the same grid power line as Hanshan Biomass Power Generation Project and provide electricity generation for the biomass power plant.
Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "The Group will build new raw material sheds at the site of the Hanshan Biomass Power Generation Project and invest in and construct Hanshan Photovoltaic Energy Project, which will effectively decrease the hypaethral loss of agricultural straw and achieve synergy between the two projects so as to lower their operation costs. The Group will construct the Hanshan Photovoltaic Energy Project as a pilot project, leverage its accumulated operational experience and further expand to other biomass power generation projects."
