Everbright International's Guanyun and Binhai Hazardous Solid Waste Landfill Projects Complete Construction and Commence Operation

10 December 2014, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Lianyungang Guanyun Hazardous Solid Waste Landfill Project ("Guanyun Project") and Binhai Hazardous Solid Waste Landfill Project ("Binhai Project") in Jiangsu Province have completed construction and are currently implementing trial runs. Both projects are expected to begin commercial operation in January 2015.

Guanyun Project Phase I is constructed and operated on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis, with a total investment of approximately RMB109 million. It is designed with a total storage capacity of 300,000 m3 and an annual hazardous waste processing capacity of 20,000 tonnes. It will mainly service the coastal economic development zone of Guanyun County, Lianyungang and its surrounding areas.

Binhai Project is also constructed and operated on a BOT basis, with a total investment of approximately RMB186 million. It is designed with a total storage capacity of 600,000 m3 and an annual hazardous waste processing capacity of 30,000 tonnes. It will mainly service the Jiangsu Binhai Economic Development Zone and its surrounding areas.
