Everbright International Secures Nanqiao Biomass Power Generation Project in Chuzhou City of Anhui Province

6 January 2015, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group")(HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has signed an investment agreement with the People's Government of Nanqiao District of Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, for the investment, construction and operation of a biomass power generation project in Nanqiao District ("Nanqiao Project"). Nanqiao Project is the sixth biomass integrated utilisation project that Everbright International has secured in Anhui Province.

The total investment of Nanqiao Project is approximately RMB320 million and it has an annual agricultural waste and straw processing capacity of approximately 280,000 tonnes. The project will be equipped with a 130t/h furnace and a 30MW power generator to generate on-grid electricity of 200,000,000 kWh annually.

Chuzhou City is one of 20 commodity grain bases nationwide. Nanqiao District has been named the ‘National Commodity Grain Base County'; ‘China's Principal County for Grain Production' and included in China's Huang Huai Hai agricultural integrated development zone thus it has abundant biomass resources. Nanqiao Project is located close to the Group's other projects in Nanjing, Dingyuan and Hanshan, which will strengthen its strategic layout in the region and help to achieve synergies.
