Everbright International Secures Hainan Sanya Waste-to-energy Project Phase II

2 March 2015, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has signed a concession agreement for the construction of Sanya Waste-to-energy Project ("Sanya Project") Phase II with Sanya Municipal People's Government of Hainan Province ("Sanya Government"), commanding a total investment of approximately RMB166 million.

Sanya Project Phase II is designed to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 350 tonnes and will be equipped with a 350 t/d furnace and a 7.5MW power generator. Together with Sanya Project Phase I, which commenced operation in December 2014, the Sanya Project will have a total designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,050 tonnes, generating on-grid electricity of 100 million KWh annually.

Due to the rapid growth of the population and economy in Sanya, the city's daily household waste has reached approximately 1,000 tonnes, which prompted the Sanya Government to start the construction of Sanya Project Phase II according to the concession agreement.
