Everbright International Secures Hangzhou Chun'an Waste-to-energy Project
18 August 2015, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") is pleased to announce that it has signed a household waste-to-energy concession agreement with the Municipal Bureau of Urban-Rural Development and City Administration of Chun'an County, Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province, to invest and construct Chun'an Waste-to-energy project ("Chun'an Project" or the "Project") in Chun'an County of Hangzhou City.Chun'an Project will be constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis for a concession period of 27 years. The Project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes. Project Phase I has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 300 tonnes, and will be constructed with fly ash landfill and sludge treatment facilities, commanding a total investment of around RMB210 million. It is expected to generate over 37,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually, treat 11,000 tonnes of sludge annually, and safe disposal of 4,500 tonnes of fly ash by landfill annually. All gas emissions will fully comply with the Euro 2000 Standard.
Chun'an is a county under Hangzhou City in Zhejiang province, where Qiandao Lake, a famous national scenic spot, is located. Chun'an Project will process all household waste collected in the administrative areas under the county, providing a comprehensive solution to the integrated treatment of solid waste in the region.
