Everbright International Cooperates with Suzhou City to Build World-class Wte Project
Driving Further Success with Advanced Technology
14 June 2016, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has secured the Dismantling, Redevelopment and Upgrading Project ("Suzhou Dismantling and Redevelopment Project") of the Jiangsu Suzhou Waste-to-energy Project ("Suzhou Project" or the "Project").With a total investment of approximately RMB2.35 billion, Suzhou Dismantling and Redevelopment Project will build 5 new incineration lines each with a daily processing capacity of 750 tonnes. Upon completion of these new incineration lines, the existing facilities at Suzhou Project Phases I and II will be dismantled, while Phase III will be upgraded. The completion of Suzhou Dismantling and Redevelopment Project and the upgraded Project Phase III will bring the daily household waste processing capacity of Suzhou Project to 5,250 tonnes, facilitating Suzhou's fully incineration and recycling on a mass scale so it can cope with the rapid increase in household waste.
The Suzhou Dismantling and Redevelopment Project will be constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis for a concession period of 27 years, scheduled to be transferred at the same time as Phase III. Gas emissions will fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard and it is expected to generate over 820,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually.
Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "Suzhou Project is a landmark waste-to-energy project in China and has received an AAA grade by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. As well as enabling mass incineration of municipal household waste, Suzhou Dismantling and Redevelopment Project will introduce technology which rigorously controls pollution. Upon completion, the plant's annual emissions of pollutants will be more than 10% lower than the approved standard of the Project's previous environmental impact assessment. Suzhou Dismantling and Redevelopment Project will fully adopt the Group's self-developed core technologies including grate furnaces, gas purification systems and leachate treatment systems, etc."
Mr. Chen continued, "In the past ten years, Everbright International has made great advances in the design and manufacturing of waste-to-energy equipment, making the Group a market leader in China. From relying on technology import in the early stages, the Group is now fully capable of developing technologies through in-house research. By aiming to build a world-class waste-to-energy project, Suzhou Project will once again set the trend in the waste-to-energy industry through its continuous innovation and creativity."
