Everbright International Wins Shandong Zouping Waste-to-energy Project
4 July 2016, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has won the bid for Shandong Zouping County Household Waste-to-energy Project ("Zouping Project" or the "Project") on 30 June, with a leading score in the overall bidding process. Zouping Project is the 15th household waste-to-energy project that Everbright International has invested in and constructed in Shandong Province.Zouping Project will be constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis for a concession period of 30 years. The Project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,050 tonnes and will be constructed in two phases. Phase I of the Project has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 700 tonnes, commanding a total investment of approximately RMB400 million. Gas emissions will fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard and it is expected to generate approximately 71,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually.
Zouping County, under the administration of Binzhou City, is one of China's top 100 counties in terms of comprehensive economic competitiveness, and is an important transportation hub in Shandong Province. Zouping County has seen rapid economic development and continuous improvement of people's living standards, as well as an increasing amount of waste generated. The completion of Zouping Project will not only satisfy the needs of the county, but will also improve its overall environment by effectively processing household waste to render it harmless, as well as reducing and reusing household waste.
