Everbright International Signs Strategic Investment and Cooperation Agreement with the People's Government of Lankao County in Henan Province

15 December 2016, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has signed a strategic investment and cooperation agreement (the "Agreement") with the People's Government of Lankao County ("Lankao government") in Henan Province to push forward the cooperation in the fields of environmental water, alternative energy and environmental-friendly new materials. The Agreement will promote all-round cooperation in integrated environmental management.

This extends the cooperation between the two parties after the Group signed an investment cooperation framework agreement for an environmental protection veinous industrial park and a concession agreement for the Lankao Waste-to-energy Project with the Lankao government in October last year, which will help propel the construction of the veinous industrial park and enhance the county's overall strength in environmental management. The two parties will seek further cooperation on a number of areas such as environmental water services, alternative energy and environmental-friendly new materials by leveraging different partnership models, based on the waste-to-energy project.

Lankao County, the birthplace of the spirit of Jiao Yulu, has been regarded as a key place in the promotion of the second phase of the Communist Party of China's "mass line" education campaign under the leadership of President Xi Jinping. It is one of the pilot counties under the National New-style Urbanization Integrated Pilot Program and the "Province Governing County" Reform Program in Henan Province.
