Everbright International Nanjing Waste-to-energy Project Phase II Completes Construction and Commences Operation
29 March 2017, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group's Nanjing Waste-to-energy Project ("Nanjing Project" or the "Project") Phase II has completed construction three months ahead of schedule and commenced commercial operation.Nanjing Project Phase II is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 2,000 tonnes, with a total investment of approximately RMB980 million. The construction of the Project Phase II took place over the course of 15 months. Nanjing Project Phase I has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 2,000 tonnes and commenced operation in mid-2014. The operation commencement of the Project Phase II makes the Nanjing Project the largest waste-to-energy project in operation at Everbright International so far, with a total designed daily household waste processing capacity of 4,000 tonnes and the capacity of treating up to 5,000 tonnes of household waste per day in the city.
Nanjing Project Phase II is equipped with three self-developed 750 t/d grate furnaces and two 25MW turbine power generators, with supporting equipment. Gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard and the water produced from the leachate treatment complies with the Grade 1A standard of the Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard.
Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "With the launch of the 13th Five-Year Plan for the Harmless Treatment of Household Waste in Nanjing, existing waste landfills in the city have fully suspended operation, and the city is transitioning towards a model of harmlessly treatment, reduction and reuse of household waste. Everbright International's Nanjing Project is an important livelihood initiative in Jiangsu Province and Nanjing. The completion and operation of the Project Phase II, which incorporates Everbright International's self-developed equipment that is specifically adapted to handle household waste in China, will allow the Nanjing Project to operate efficiently and smoothly in compliance with discharge standards. This will help to create a more pleasant and habitable living environment for the residents in Jiangnan and Lishui Districts of Nanjing."

Our Zouping Waste-to-energy Project and Fei County Waste-to-energy Project in Shandong Province both started construction recently and are expected to complete construction and commence operations in 2018.
