27 December 2017, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group has recently signed a college-enterprise cooperation agreement with Changsha Environmental Protection College (the "College") in Hunan Province for the sharing of resources for mutual benefit. In attendance at the signing ceremony were Mr. Zhu Guangyao, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the PRC (MEP), Mr. Pan Biling, Vice Director General of Hunan Environmental Protection Department, and Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International. Mr. Hu Yanguo, Deputy General Manager of Everbright International, and Mr. Liu Yigui, Dean and Vice Secretary of Party Committees of the College, signed the agreement on behalf of the respective party. Mr. Lv Wenming, Secretary of Party Committees of the College, hosted the ceremony and the Dean, Mr. Liu Yigui, delivered a welcoming remark at the event.
Mr. Zhu Guangyao, former Vice Minister of the MEP, said that Everbright International and Changsha Environmental Protection College are joining hands in strength. He hopes both parties will further enhance collaboration going forward, explore new areas for cooperation, and develop new forms of partnership for new outcomes.
Mr. Pan Biling, Vice Director General of Hunan Environmental Protection Department, welcomed Everbright International to further cooperate with Hunan Province in the environmental protection sector and make efforts to contribute to the province's environmental management. He also hopes this cooperation between the two parties will fully improve the teaching and research in relevant fields, as well as the development of the environmental protection sector, in the province.
Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "Everbright International would like to attribute its rapid growth to three major factors: firstly, the high level of attention the Communist Party of China and the central government have paid to the green development and ecological conservation in the country; secondly, support from capital markets and investors to the development of Everbright International as a listed company in Hong Kong, with active funding resources; and last but not least, the arduous efforts made by every member of staff at the Group for over a decade. As a witness to and an explorer of China's environmental protection industry, Everbright International has three public companies and has established a development landscape that includes six major business sectors, namely envirotech, environmental energy, environmental water, greentech, equipment manufacturing and international business, all of which are growing concurrently and have vast potential in the future. The signing today sets up a new field in college-enterprise cooperation for the Group, and marks a venture. We hope both parties will adopt a pragmatic approach to deepening and solidifying the cooperation to achieve mutual benefit."
