Everbright Water Secures Two Waste Water Treatment Projects

Singapore and Hong Kong, 2 December 2019 – China Everbright Water Limited ("Everbright Water" or the "Company", stock codes: U9E.SG and 1857.HK) (中国光大水务有限公司), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, is pleased to announce that the Company has recently secured Dalian Zhuanghe Waste Water Treatment Project ("Zhuanghe Project") Phase II in Liaoning Province and Ju County Urban Waste Water Treatment Project ("Ju County Project") in Shandong Province, with a total investment of approximately RMB279 million.

Everbright Water has recently entered into a concession agreement in relation to Zhuanghe Project Phase II with the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province. By adopting a TOT (Transfer-Operate-Transfer) model, Zhuanghe Project Phase II commands an investment of approximately RMB140 million with a concession period of 20 years. The project will be invested in and operated by a project company, which is jointly established by Everbright Water and the investor representative of the local government. The Company will hold a 95% equity stake in the project company. Located in the same plant area with Zhuanghe Project Phase I, Zhuanghe Project Phase II has a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 50,000 m³. Pursuant to the agreement, Zhuanghe Project Phase I will undertake upgrading work so as to ensure discharged water of Zhuanghe Project Phase I and II will comply with the national Grade 1A standard according to the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB18918-2002) (the "National Grade 1A standard"). Zhuanghe Project Phase I was invested in and constructed based on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model. With a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 30,000 m³, Zhuanghe Project Phase I completed construction and commenced operation in 2009.

Separately, the Company has also entered into a concession agreement in relation to Ju County Project with the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Ju County in Rizhao City, Shandong Province. By adopting a TOT model, Ju County Project has a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 80,000 m³. The project commands an investment of approximately RMB139 million with a concession period of 25 years. Ju County Project is currently undertaking upgrading work by the local government. After the upgrading work is completed, discharged water of the project will comply with the National Grade 1A standard, with some discharge indicators superior to this standard. Ju County Project is the fifth waste water treatment project secured by Everbright Water in Ju County, following Ju County Shudong Waste Water Treatment Project, Ju County Chengbei Waste Water Treatment Project ("Ju County Chengbei Project"), Ju County Chengbei Project Upgrading and Ju County Chengbei Waste Water Treatment Plant Expansion Project Phase I. The total designed daily waste water treatment capacity of Everbright Water’s projects in Ju County will be increased to 160,000 m³. This marks the Company’s market share in the waste water treatment market in the urban areas of Ju County reaching 100%.
