Everbright Water Secures Two Waste Water Treatment Projects
Singapore and Hong Kong, 21 December 2020 – China Everbright Water Limited ("Everbright Water" or the "Company", stock codes: U9E.SG and 1857.HK) (中国光大水务有限公司), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, is pleased to announce that the Company has recently entered into a concession agreement with the People's Government of Zhenglu County, Tianning District of Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province in relation to Changzhou Zhenglu Waste Water Treatment Project ("Zhenglu Project") Phase II. In addition, the Company has secured Jiangsu Jiangyin Waste Water Treatment (Binjiang Plant and Chengxi Plant) Upgrading Project ("Jiangyin Upgrading Project"). These two projects command a total investment of approximately RMB122 million.
Everbright Water secured Zhenglu Project Phase II based on a TOT (Transfer-Operate-Transfer) model, with an investment of approximately RMB100 million. The project has a concession period of 30 years and a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 20,000 m3. Its discharged water is currently in compliance with the national Grade 1A standard according to the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB18918-2002) ("Grade 1A standard") and the Discharge Standard of Main Water Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant & Key Industries of Taihu Area ("Taihu Discharge Standard") (DB32/1072-2007). From 1 January 2021, the project's discharged water will comply with the discharge standard of main water pollutants for municipal waste water treatment plants of other areas in Taihu Area ("Chart 2 standard") indicated in the Taihu Discharge Standard. Zhenglu Project Phase II is Everbright Water's first project in Changzhou City, which will lay a solid foundation for the Company to further explore cooperation with the city and to bolster its market status in Jiangsu Province.
Jiangyin Upgrading Project will be implemented based on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, commanding an investment of approximately RMB22 million. Its concession period will expire concurrently with Jiangyin Waste Water Treatment Project. Jiangyin Upgrading Project will optimise relevant processes of the Binjiang Waste Water Treatment Plant and Chengxi Waste Water Treatment Plant (Phase I and II), which have a total designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 180,000 m3. Upon completion of relevant works, the standard that the plants' discharged water complies with will be upgraded from the national Grade 1A standard to the Chart 2 standard of the Taihu Discharge Standard.
