Everbright Water Secures Changzhou Zhenglu Industrial Waste Water Treatment Project Phase I in Jiangsu Province

Singapore and Hong Kong, 6 December 2021 – China Everbright Water Limited ("Everbright Water" or the "Company"; stock codes: U9E.SG and 1857.HK) (中國光大水務有限公司), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, is pleased to announce that the Company has recently secured Jiangsu Changzhou Zhenglu Industrial Waste Water Treatment Project ("Zhenglu Industrial Waste Water Project") Phase I, which commands an investment of approximately RMB143 million.

Zhenglu Industrial Waste Water Project Phase I will be invested in, constructed, operated and maintained based on a Rehabilitate-Operate-Transfer ("ROT") model, for a concession period of 30 years (inclusive of one-year construction period). With a designed daily industrial waste water treatment capacity of 5,000 m³ (and an additional designed daily industrial waste water treatment capacity of 5,000 m³ in the long-term plan), the project will be equipped with water pipeline network outside the project area with a length of approximately 24 kilometers. It will be mainly providing industrial waste water treatment services to industrial enterprises in the Tianning High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Changzhou City. The project’s discharged water will comply with standards indicated in the Table 2 of the Discharge Standard of Main Water Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant & Key Industries of Taihu Area (DB32/1072-2018). In the future, the Company will consider the actual circumstances and demands of Zhenglu Industrial Waste Water Project Phase I before proceeding with entry into relevant agreement(s) for project expansion works.

Everbright Water secured Changzhou Zhenglu Waste Water Treatment Project ("Zhenglu Project") Phase II based on a Transfer-Operate-Transfer ("TOT") model in December 2020, tapping into Changzhou’s water market. The project has a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 20,000 m³ and is mainly treating municipal waste water and some industrial waste water from the Zhenglu County. Securing Zhenglu Industrial Waste Water Project Phase I marks good expansion of cooperation between Everbright Water and the People’s Government of Zhenglu County. The two projects will focus on providing quality municipal waste water and industrial waste water treatment services, respectively. By facilitating Zhenglu County’s effective separation of municipal waste water treatment and industrial waste water treatment, the two projects are expected to help better safeguard the local water environment.
