Chairman and CEO of Everbright Environment Wang Tianyi meets with Deputy Secretary of the CPC and acting mayor of Dongying City Chen Bichang

On 27 October 2020, Wang Tianyi, Chairman and CEO of China Everbright Environment Limited ("Everbright Environment" or the "Company") had a meeting with Chen Bichang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC and acting mayor of Dongying City, Shandong Province. The two parties discussed opportunities to expand their areas of cooperation. Yang Shiqiao, Deputy General Manager of the Company, also attended the meeting.



Wang Tianyi welcomed Chen Bichang and his team and presented the real-time images of Everbright Environment's demonstrative projects through the Company's integrated information platform. While introducing the Company's overall business development, Wang Tianyi said that after 17 years of development, Everbright Environment has been crowned two of the "largest" and two of the "best" achievements. Its exemplary Changzhou Waste-to-Energy Project is fenceless, fully-opened and equipped with public amenities – the first of its kind in China – and the project has been identified as one of the first 15 primary contact points across the country, as announced by the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress. Wang Tianyi also highlighted that the Company's environmental energy, environmental water and greentech business sectors have outstanding advantages and strong market competitiveness. While solidifying its leading position, it also strives to promote the development of its new business sectors, namely eco-recycling and greenergy, seeing preliminary results in places such as Jiangsu and Shandong provinces.

Wang Tianyi said that Dongying City, a hub in the Yellow River Delta and an important national oil base, has seen strong industrial advantages, rapid economic growth and huge development potential. Everbright Environment has always viewed Shandong as a key provincial market, where the Company has implemented over a hundred projects in almost all prefectural-level cities. Everbright Environment has been paying attention to the demand for environmental protection services in Dongying City. Given that Everbright Environment has rich experience in river-basin management and environmental remediation, has explored the resources sector starting with waste sorting and resource recycling, and has expanded the energy market through new sodium lamp products, the Company has seen common ground with the development of Dongying City, and looks forward to more cooperation opportunities in the future.



Chen Bichang said that Dongying City is looking forward to cooperating with first-class state-owned enterprises like Everbright Environment – the largest environmental protection enterprise in China and an industry leader in Asia, as well as the largest waste-to-energy investor and operator globally. Dongying remains as the only coastal city with zero COVID-19 cases in the southeastern region, with excellent progress seen in its economic and social development. As a key member of the national strategy for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, as well as an important member of the development of the economic circle of Shandong's capital city, Dongying sees good prospects in its development ahead and is seizing opportunities. By reviewing China's "14th Five-Year Plan" blueprint carefully, the city intends to grasp more cooperative business opportunities with Everbright Environment and implement projects towards win-win results.

Dongying City in Shandong province is located in the Jiaodong peninsula and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It is placed at the intersection of the Bohai sea economic zone and the Yellow River economic belt, a hub in the Yellow River delta, as well as China's key oil base and the main production area of the Shengli oilfield.
