Everbright International Wins Waste-to Energy Project in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province
Consolidates Leadership in Environmental Energy Sector
China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or "the Group"), has won a waste-to-energy project tender in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province ("Zhenjiang Project") helping to consolidate its leadership in the environmental energy sector in Jiangsu Province and the country.The Group will invest a total of approximately RMB413 million in Zhenjiang Project to be operated on BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis, with a term of 30 years. The designed daily processing capacity of the project is 1,000 tonnes of household waste and the plant will be equipped with three waste incinerators, each with a respective processing capacity of 350 tonnes and two 12,000 kilo-watt generators.
Located in the Dagang Economic Development Zone, Zhenjiang City, the project will occupy an area of 120 acre. The construction work will begin in the third quarter this year and will take 18 months to build. The project will be completed for operation in 2011. It is the sixth waste-to-energy project secured by the Group following Phase I and II of the Suzhou Project, Yixing Project, Jiangyin Project and Changzhou Project. Plus the Jinan Waste-to-energy Project in Shandong Province, the designed annual waste processing capacity of the Group reaches 2.6 million tonnes. Everbright International will continue to improve and upgrade the project, and strive to build the project into a model base for environmental education and industrial tourism in Zhenjiang City.
