Jiangyin Reusable Water Project Commenced Commercial Operation
(Hong Kong, 10 January 2013) China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") is pleased to announce that its invested Jiangyin reusable water project (Phase 1), (the "Project"), commenced commercial operation in January 2013. The project had been undergoing system commissioning and trial operations since November 2012.The Project is the Group's third reusable water project, following its Zibo and Jinan projects. The Project, with a lot size of 19 acres, is designed to provide reusable water of 20,000 cubic meters per day. The project consists of two phases. Phase 1 is designed to provide 10,000 cubic metres of reusable water per day and has involved a total investment of approximately RMB7,300 million. The inbound water sourced in the Project, is the discharged water from the Jiangyin Binjiang Waste Water Treatment Plant that meets grade 1A national waste water discharge standard and the outbound water, with a quality indicator showing the conductivity less than 100μs/cm, is ultrapure reusable water. The ultrapure reusable water is being consumed by textile-dyeing and electroplating enterprises in the same region.
Mr. Chen Xiaoping, Chief Executive Officer of Everbright International said, "The project's inauguration of the commercial operation signifies the Group's consummate extension of its industry chain in the field of waste water treatment in Jiangyin. It also marks the beginning of the utilization of reusable water in the municipal infrastructure's development for the Jiangyin National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and is another great example of the recycling and reutilization of waste water by the Group. Moreover, the Jiangyin Reusable Water Project has enabled Everbright International to build a good cooperative relationship with the Municipal Government of Jiangyin City based on mutual trust. The Group will continue to support the development of environmental protection of the city and contribute to the energy conservation and emission reduction for the city".
