Everbright International Sanya and Shouguang Waste-to-energy Projects Complete Construction and Commence Operation
29 December 2014, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that Hainan Sanya Waste-to-energy Project ("Sanya Project") and Shandong Shouguang Waste-to-energy Project ("Shouguang Project") have completed construction and commenced operation. They have been connected to the national power grid and have started generating electricity. Both projects are invested and operated on a BOT basis, and their gas emission will fully comply with the Euro 2000 Standard.Sanya Project is the first waste-to-energy project that Everbright International has invested and constructed in Hainan Province as well as Sanya City and Hainan Province's key municipal project. The project was awarded the "Top Quality Construction Project of Hainan Province". With a total investment of RMB430 million, Sanya Project Phase I is designed with a daily waste processing capacity of 700 tonnes, generating green electricity of approximately 75,000,000 kWh annually. It is equipped with two 350 t/d mechanical grate furnaces and a 12MW power generator.
Shouguang Project is the second waste-to-energy project that Everbright International invested in Shandong Province. With a total investment of RMB339 million, Shouguang Project Phase I is designed with a daily waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes, generating green electricity of approximately 80,000,000 kWh annually. It is equipped with two 300 t/d mechanical grate furnaces and a 12MW power generator.
Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "Following the commencements of operation of Sanya Project and Shouguang Project, Everbright International currently has 15 waste-to-energy projects in operation, with a total designed daily household waste processing capacity of 14,550 tonnes. Together with the Group's 21 projects which under construction and in preparatory stages, the total designed daily household waste processing capacity of the Group's waste-to-energy projects has reached 32,250 tonnes.
