Everbright International's Zhenjiang Waste-to-energy Project Phase II Completes Construction and Commences Operation

27 May 2015, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group's Zhenjiang Waste-to-energy Project ("Zhenjiang Project") Phase II has completed construction and commenced operation. It has been connected to the national power grid and started generating electricity. Zhenjiang Project Phase II is Everbright International's 16th waste-to-energy project in operation, together with 24 other projects currently under construction or in the preparatory stage, brings the total designed daily household waste processing capacity of the Group's waste-to-energy projects to 34,300 tonnes.

Zhenjiang Project Phase I completed construction and commenced operation in August 2011 and has a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes. Amid rapid economic growth and an expanding population in Zhenjiang City, Zhenjiang Project Phase I has already reached its full operational capacity. In August 2014, the Group commenced the construction of Zhenjiang Project Phase II, which has a designed daily processing capacity of 400 tonnes and is expected to generate over 45,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually. Phase II commanded a total investment of approximately RMB200 million and has fully complied with the Euro 2000 Standard in gas emissions as well as achieving zero discharge of leachate from waste processing.
