Everbright International Ma'anshan Waste-to-energy Project Completes Construction and Commences Operation

5 May 2017, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group's Ma'anshan Waste-to-energy Project ("Ma'anshan Project" or the "Project") Phase I in Anhui Province has completed construction and commenced operation.

Everbright International has established a joint-venture company based on the Public-Private-Partnership ("PPP") model with Jiangdong Holding Group Ma'anshan Municipal Public Utility Investment Company Limited, in order to invest in, construct, operate and maintain Ma'anshan Project through concession contract with a concession period of 30 years. The Project, constructed in two phases, will command a total investment of RMB519 million, with a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,200 tonnes.

Ma'anshan Project Phase I commands an investment of RMB450 million and has a designed household waste processing capacity of 800 tonnes. The Project Phase I is equipped with two 400 tonnes/day mechanic grate furnaces and an 18MW turbine power generator together with other supporting facilities. The gas is treated by "SNCR denitrification + (semi-dry + dry) de-acidification + activated carbon injection + bag-type dust removing + SCR" techniques and its gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard.
