Chinese Ambassador to Poland Xu Jian meets with delegation led by Everbright International CEO Chen Xiaoping

On 20 July 2017, Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group"), was invited by the Chinese Embassy in Poland to meet with Mr. Xu Jian, the Chinese Ambassador to Poland, and Ms. Liu Lijuan, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Poland. Mr. Qian Xiaodong, Deputy General Manager of Everbright International and CEO of China Everbright Greentech Limited, and Mr. Li Mi, Representative of Everbright International's representative office in Poland, also attended the meeting.

Ambassador Xu welcomed Mr. Chen Xiaoping and acknowledged Everbright International's acquisition of Novago sp. z o.o. ("NOVAGO"), the leading solid waste treatment company in Poland.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping introduced Everbright International's current business development, highlighting that the Group's acquisition of NOVAGO last year was the largest acquisition made in Central and Eastern Europe by a Chinese company. He said that NOVAGO boasts a sophisticated waste collection, storage and transportation system, supplemented by Everbright International's advanced waste-to-energy technologies, which will take Poland's solid waste treatment capability to new heights in the future. China's environmental protection industry has already developed its own technologies that are comparable to those in Europe and the U.S. At the same time, Everbright International has managed to produce a complete series of "Made by Everbright" equipment that covers the entire waste-to-energy industry chain. The Group's next step will be to promote its self-developed technologies and equipment to overseas countries along the "One Belt One Road" route.

Ambassador Xu remarked that Everbright International has set a good example for Chinese companies looking to invest in Poland. He said he looks forward to forging a deeper partnership with Everbright International in order to continue creating benefits for the people of Poland and to develop China's economic and technological strengths, ultimately achieving mutual benefits and progress for the two countries.
