Everbright Greentech Secures Two New Projects and Successfully Expands into a New Province
6 June 2018, Hong Kong - China Everbright Greentech Limited ("Everbright Greentech" or the "Company") (HKSE: 1257) is pleased to announce that the Company has recently secured Gansu Lintao Integrated Biomass and Waste-to-energy Project (Waste-to-energy) ("Lintao Project") and Jiangsu Binhai Hazardous Waste Incineration Project ("Binhai Project"). The total investments of the two projects amount to RMB616 million.
Lintao Project commands an investment of approximately RMB287 million, with a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes. It will be constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, with a concession period of 30 years. Upon completion of the construction, the project will centralise the processing of household waste from Lintao County, Guanghe County and Kangle County of Gansu Province. Its gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard.
Binhai Project commands an investment of approximately RMB329 million, of which the Company will hold a 90% equity stake. The project is designed with an annual hazardous waste incineration processing capacity of 30,000 tonnes. It will process hazardous waste with priority from the Jiangsu Binhai Economic Development Zone Coastal Industrial Park. It will be invested in and constructed on a BOO (Build-Operate-Own) model, with a concession period of no less than 50 years.
Lintao Project marks the beginning of Everbright's environmental protection presence in Gansu Province, achieving another breakthrough by developing its first footprint in the province. The innovative urban-rural integration model introduced by the Company focuses on the integrated treatment of agricultural and forestry residues and urban-rural household waste, and is particularly applicable to counties with less household waste.
Since Everbright Greentech's first project in Binhai County commenced operation in 2016, the Company has recorded zero incident concerning environment and safety. The Company also earned the recognition and trust from the local community by strictly complying with the requirements of environmental, safety, health and social responsibility management systems. In the future, the Company will strive to uphold its business principle of 'operating safely and stably in compliance with relevant emission standards', with a view to delivering desirable outcomes to the local government and residents.
