Everbright Water's Several Projects Commenced Operation
Singapore, 3 September 2018 – China Everbright Water Limited ("Everbright Water" or the "Company", SGX: U9E) (中国光大水务有限公司), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, is pleased to announce that several projects of the Company have recently commenced operation, namely: Ji'nan Huashan Waste Water Treatment Project, Ji’nan Sludge Treatment Project and Dezhou Ling County Waste Water Treatment Project Plant 2 Upgrading ("Ling County Project Plant 2 Upgrading") in Shandong Province. Such commencement of operation demonstrates the local governments’ strong support and recognition to the Company, and also indicates that the Company has more operating projects to generate environmental and social benefits to the local communities, while creating economic benefits to the Company.
Ji’nan Huashan Waste Water Treatment Project is Everbright Water’s first full-underground waste water treatment project, as well as the first large full-underground waste water treatment plant in Ji’nan City. With a concession period of 30 years, the project commands an investment of approximately RMB167 million and has a designed daily treatment capacity of 30,000 m3. Following the commencement of construction in September 2017 and with the kind attention and support from the government departments at the provincial and city levels, the project commenced operation in August 2018, which is eight days earlier than the contracted commencement date. The project is mainly responsible for treating municipal waste water for the Huashan District of Ji’nan City. Some of the project’s water discharge indicators comply with the Surface Water Quality Standard (GB3838-2002) for Category IV, while the remaining indicators fully comply with the national Grade 1A standard. Ji’nan Huashan Waste Water Treatment Project is regarded a major livelihood project in Ji’nan City. The project, upon its commencement of operation, not only helps to solve the waste water treatment problem for the Huashan District, but also plays an active role in improving the water quality of the Xiaoqing River and the living environment of the city’s urban areas.
Additionally, Ji’nan Sludge Treatment Project, an ancillary project to Ji’nan Waste Water Treatment Project (Plant 1 & 2), has recently completed construction and commenced operation, which is 46 days earlier than the contracted commencement date. As an ancillary project to the above-mentioned waste water treatment project with a designed daily treatment capacity of 750,000 m3, Ji’nan Sludge Treatment Project commands an investment of approximately RMB64.73 million and has a designed daily sludge dehydration treatment capacity of 430 tonnes, with the water content of sludge after dehydration being not higher than 65% of the total sludge weight. The project is one of the key tasks for the tough battle to improve the environment of the Xiaoqing River. Upon commencement of operation, the project plays an important role in solving the difficulties to dispose large amount of sludge generated in Ji’nan City.
With an investment of approximately RMB33 million and a designed daily treatment capacity of 30,000 m3, Ling County Project Plant 2 Upgrading began construction in April 2018 and commenced operation in September 2018. The project treats industrial and municipal waste water within Lingcheng Economic Development Zone in Dezhou City of Shandong Province. Upon completion of the upgrading works, the quality of the treated water of the project became more stable, with the discharged water complying with the national Grade 1A standard. Furthermore, the chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus concentration levels of the treated water have been improved to be better than the national Grade 1A standard. In addition, the project has received approvals to effect a tariff hike by approximately 54% upon commencement of its operation.
