Everbright International Secures Liaoning Daxin and Jiangsu Danyang Food Waste Treatment Projects

27 December 2018, Hong Kong - China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group has recently secured Shenyang Daxin Food Waste Treatment PPP (Public-Private Partnership) Project ("Daxin Food Waste Project") in Liaoning Province, and Danyang Food Waste Treatment Project ("Danyang Food Waste Project") in Jiangsu Province, with a total investment of approximately RMB178.2 million.

Daxin Food Waste Project will be invested in and constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model for a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive), with an investment of approximately RMB115 million. With a designed daily food waste processing capacity of 400 tonnes, the project is equipped with three 15 tonnes/hour food waste treatment lines and one 10 tonnes/hour waste oil and grease treatment line. The project will adopt "pre-treatment + solid-liquid extraction of oil + medium-temperature blend-stirred anaerobic fermentation + residue incineration + methane-to-energy" in the main treatment process, and is equipped with a pre-treatment workshop, a deodorisation system and other equipment.

Danyang Food Waste Project, with an investment of approximately RMB63.2 million, will also be invested in and constructed on a BOT model and is scheduled to be transferred to the local government at the same time as Danyang Waste-to-energy Project of the Group. With a designed daily food waste processing capacity of 80 tonnes, Danyang Food Waste Project is equipped with one 80 tonnes/day food waste treatment line, and will adopt "pre-treatment + solid-liquid extraction of oil + reserved anaerobic digestion + residue incineration + methane-to-energy" in the main treatment process. The project is also equipped with a deodorisation system and other equipment.

This demonstrates again Everbright International's speedy progress in project development. As of now, the Group has secured a total of 12 household and food waste integrated treatment projects. The integrated treatment of household and food waste is able to achieve synergies and resource sharing between the projects, which could facilitate the improvement of the local environment. It would also enhance operational efficiency and lower management and operational costs."
