Everbright International Secures Shandong Yucheng Waste-to-energy Project

18 March 2019, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that it has recently secured Shandong Yucheng Waste-to-energy Project ("Yucheng Project").

Yucheng Project will be invested in and constructed on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, with a designed daily household waste processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes. With a concession period of 30 years (construction period inclusive), the project will be mainly responsible for processing household waste from Yucheng City and its neighbor Pingyuan County. As Yucheng Project will be constructed in two phases, phase I of the project is designed to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes, with an investment of approximately RMB444 million. In addition, it will be equipped with two self-developed 300 tonnes/day mechanical grate furnaces and one 12MW turbine power generator. Phase I of the project is also expected to generate green electricity of approximately 86 million kWh, with its gas emissions fully complying with relevant national standards and the daily average level of online monitored gas emissions superior to the Euro 2010 Standard.

In addition, considering that Yucheng Project is the second waste-to-energy project invested in and constructed by the Group in the area following the Group’s Qihe Waste-to-energy Project, as well as being the Group’s ninth environmental protection project in the area, the securing of Yuzhou Project will help further enhance the Group’s presence in the Dezhou area. Riding on resources sharing and synergy with other projects of the Group in the area, Yucheng Project will facilitate the harmless treatment, reduction and reuse of household waste in Dezhou, so as to further improve the ecological and living environment in the area."
