China Everbright Environment Group Limited (Formerly Known as "China Everbright International Limited") Announces Completion of Procedure on Official Change of Company Name

16 September 2020, Hong Kong – China Everbright Environment Group Limited ("Everbright Environment" or the "Company") (SEHK: 257) is pleased to announce that the Company has recently received the certificate of change of name by the Companies Registry in Hong Kong, following a special resolution on the change of the company name being duly passed at the extraordinary general meeting of the Company earlier on. The Company's name has changed from "China Everbright International Limited" to "China Everbright Environment Group Limited", with effect from 10 September 2020.

The stock short name for trading of the securities of the Company on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited will be changed from "CHINA EB INT'L" to "EB ENVIRONMENT" in English, and from "中國光大國際" to "光大環境" in Chinese, both with effect from 9am on 22 September 2020. The stock code of the Company will remain unchanged. The website of the Company will also be changed from "www.ebchinaintl.com" to "www.cebenvironment.com", with effect from 5 October 2020.

The change of the Company's name and logo intends to more directly reflect Everbright Environment's business focuses and development directions, to better support its long-term development. Since the Company tapped the environmental protection industry in 2003, Everbright Environment has gradually set up a development layout that focuses on the areas of environment, resources and energy. Its main businesses cover waste-to-energy and integrated waste treatment, biomass power generation, hazardous waste and solid waste treatment, environmental remediation, waste water treatment, reusable water, water supply, river-basin ecological restoration, equipment manufacturing, waste sorting, environmental sanitation integration, resource recycling, development of zero-waste cities, energy-saving lighting, analysis and testing, research and development relating to green technologies, ecological and environmental planning and designing, as well as environmental protection industrial parks. As at 30 June 2020, the Company had secured more than 430 environmental protection projects with a total investment exceeding RMB130 billion. It had a business presence in over 190 locations across 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, as well as the overseas markets of Germany, Poland and Vietnam.
