Everbright Environment Appoints Mr. Wang Tianyi, CEO of the Company, as Chairman of the Board

25 September 2020, Hong Kong – The board (the "Board") of directors of China Everbright Environment Group Limited ("Everbright Environment" or the "Company") (formerly known as "China Everbright International Limited") (SEHK: 257) today announced that Mr. Wang Tianyi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board, in addition to his current duties as the executive director and the CEO of the Company. In the meantime, Mr. Cai Yunge has resigned as the executive director and the Chairman of the Board. The above-mentioned arrangements take effect from 25 September 2020.

Mr. Wang Tianyi joined the Board in February 2010 as the executive director and the general manager of the Company. He was re-designated as the executive director and the CEO of the Company in January 2018. Mr. Wang holds a bachelor's degree in electronics, a master's degree in management and a doctorate degree in economics from Tsinghua University. He was formerly the Vice President and Professor of Yantai University of Shandong Province, the Deputy Mayor of Ji'nan City of Shandong Province and also the Dean of Shandong Academy of Sciences. With rich knowledge and experience in areas of academic studies, political affairs, research and industries, Mr. Wang has been leading the Company to proactively pursue reform, advancement, strategic transformation and steady development, which has helped to solidify the Company's industry-leading position. Besides, he is a part-time professor of Tsinghua University and a Co-Director of the Center for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) at Tsinghua University. He is also a member of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, an advisory member of the Belt and Road International Green Development Coalition, a vice chairman of the China Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion Association, a vice chairman of the Industrial and Academic Union of Ecological Environment of China Association for Science and Technology, a member of the UNECE PPP Business Advisory Board, and an advisor of the China Business Centre at National University of Singapore.

Upon the Board's announcement of the appointment, Mr. Wang Tianyi, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Everbright Environment, said: "I would like to appreciate Mr. Cai Yunge on behalf of the Company for his significant contributions to Everbright Environment.
