Everbright Water Secures Jiangsu Jiangyin Chengxi Waste Water Treatment Project Phase IV and A Few More Projects
Singapore and Hong Kong, 7 June 2023 - China Everbright Water Limited (“Everbright Water” or the “Company”; stock codes: U9E.SG and 1857.HK) (中國光大水務有限公司), an environmental protection company focusing on water environment management, is pleased to announce that the Company today entered into a concession agreement with Jiangyin Municipal Integrated Management Bureau of Jiangsu Province and secured Jiangyin Chengxi Waste Water Treatment Project (“Chengxi Project”) Phase IV. Prior to this, the Company also secured the Second Upgrading of Dezhou Lingcheng Waste Water Treatment Project (“Lingcheng Project”) (Plant 2) in Shandong Province and the Upgrading of Anshan West 2nd Waste Water Treatment Project (“Anshan Project”) in Liaoning Province. The above projects command a total investment of approximately RMB406 million and contribute an additional designed daily water treatment capacity of 60,000 m3. Securing all those projects not only marks Everbright Water’s further implementation of its strategic development deployment to solidify its traditional businesses and foster steady business growth, but also facilitates the Company’s effort to solidify its local market position and advantages and enhance its brand influence.
Chengxi Project Phase IV will be carried out based on the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, with an investment of approximately RMB253 million. With a concession period of approximately 14 years (including the construction period), the project has a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 45,000 m3 and a daily reusable water supply capacity of 15,000 m3. The effluent from the project will comply with both the other regional standards under the Discharge Standards of Main Water Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants and Key Industries of Taihu Area (DB 32/1072-2018) and the national Grade 1A standard under the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002) (“national Grade 1A standard”).
The cooperation between Everbright Water and Jiangyin City in the water sector started in 2007, with a cumulative investment of nearly RMB1.9 billion, a total designed daily water treatment capacity exceeding 400,000 m3, and a daily water treatment capacity in operation of 263,000 m3. The concession service area of Chengxi Project Phase IV is in the west of Chaoyang Road, Tianhe Road, Renmin Road and Xicheng Expressway, and the east of Hetun Road, which includes Chengjiang Street District and the former Lingang Development Zone. The implementation of this project will further expand the geographical coverage of Everbright Water’s services and achieve better synergy and efficiency across the Company’s water projects in Jiangyin, to continue its contribution to the management and enhancement of the water environment in Jiangyin through efficient and stable water treatment services.
In May this year, Everbright Water secured the Second Upgrading of Lingcheng Project (Plant 2) based on the BOT model, with an investment of approximately RMB54 million. Following the implementation of the second upgrading work, the effluent of Lingsheng Project (Plant 2) will be upgraded from the existing national Grade 1A standard to the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB 3838-2002) Quasi-IV standard (“Quasi-IV Standard for Surface Water”). The implementation of the project demonstrates Everbright Water’s active engagement in complying with relevant requirements of the “Two Clearances, One Upgrade” Implementation Plan of Dezhou City, facilitating the management and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin in the city.
The Upgrading of Anshan Project, which was signed in May this year, will also be implemented based on the BOT model, involving an investment of approximately RMB99 million. As the second environmental protection project implemented by the Company in Anshan during the past six months, the Upgrading of Anshan Project will improve the water quality of Anshan Project by complying with the Quasi-IV Standard for Surface Water. Additionally, such project will form a good synergy with the Company’s Anshan Municipal Sludge Disposal Project Phase I, so as to satisfy the relevant standards and requirements for water quality of the Anshan Yunliang River Basin section and improve the local living environment through high-quality environmental services.
